Our flowers and bouquets need only simple care to keep them looking great. When they arrive it is important to put them in water. Where flowers arrive in bud please allow a few days for the flowers to open completely. Upon receiving your flowers, choose an appropriate clean vase and fill it with fresh, room temperature water. Add any included cut-flower food to the water. Remove any foliage that will be below the level of water in your vase as this will increase the life expectancy or your flowers. Sometimes your flowers may be slightly wilted around the outer petals, this is simply due to a lack of water while in transit. Flower stems should be cut to a length dependent on the type and height of the vase. When you cut your flowers stems do so at a 45-degree angle as this will improve ability to absorb water. You flowers will last longer if you avoid placing your display near direct heat, in direct sunlight or in a draught. Maintain the water level in your vase by topping it up every day. Change your flowers water every 2-3 days to ensure maximum beauty and life. Flower ArrangementsOn arrival make up the flower food as described on the sachet and pour the solution over the oasis block. Keep the oasis block moist adding fresh water every 2 - 3 days. Avoid placing your display near direct heat, in direct sunlight, air conditioners or in a draught. Any lilies received should have the pollen stamens removed as they open. If you get any lily pollen on your clothing DO NOT rub off with your hands, remove by dabbing with cellotape. RosesRemove the outside guard petals. These rugged outer petals were left on to protect your roses during shipment. If a Rose stars to droop at the head, re-cut the stem, wrap the head in paper to support it upright and plunge 5 cms of the stem into boiling water for about 30 seconds. Cut the stem again and place in deep cold water for two hours. Hand-tied FlowersA hand-tied bouquet can be placed straight into a vase. The bouquet is delivered in a wrap with a bubble of water to ensure the flowers are as fresh as possible. Release the water from the bubble by cutting a hole in the cellophane over a sink. Remove all gift wrapping but do not untie your flowers if you want to retain the shape of your hand-tied bouquet. Cut 3cm or 1 inch off each stem at a 45-degree angle. Fill a vase with fresh room temperature water and add the included cut-flower food to the water. Remove any foliage that will be below the level of water in your vase as this will increase the life expectancy of your flowers. Place the bouquet in a cool position, away from heating or cooling vents and appliances, direct sunlight or draughts and add fresh water daily. Plant Care TipsEvery plant has its own specific requirements but most plants like light and an even temperature so avoid draughts, air conditioning and cold. In the winter foliage plants require little water although flowering plants generally need more. Check th eplant soil every couple of days. Plant soil should be kept moist at all times and soil should not be allowed to dry out or the plant allowed to wilt. However, avoid over watering, do not allow plants to stand in water. |
